Stephan Bormann

Stephan Bormann is one of the most versatile German guitarists. With his projects, the Songland Trio, Hands On Strings, the 10String Orchestra or as a soloist, he gives about 100 concerts a year. As a guitarist in the Cristin Claas Trio, he was a Sony recording artist and toured through various European countries. He is not only a successful musician but also a composer with publications by AMA-Verlag and Schott Music. His SOLO GUITAR BOOK was published there in 2013, presenting various approaches to arranging for solo guitar - with the edition of duets SOUNDS OF THE WORLD, which was published in 2021, he embarked on a compositional world tour.
As a sideman he has worked with various artists and has performed in concerts with Nils Landgren, Till Brönner, the Klazz Brothers, the Leipzig Big Band, Günther Fischer and many others. From 1989 to 2006 he worked as a guitar lecturer at the University of Magdeburg and from 1998 to 1999 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. He has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden since 1995, where he is a professor for jazz/rock/pop guitar. Workshops took him to numerous cities in Germany and to Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, France and the USA.
